The demands of good skincare
The biggest issue women of colour undeniably face today is hyperpigmentation. This is typically accompanied by patches of discoloured skin and uneven skin tone – a common problem which can be further exacerbated by exposure to sun and inflammatory skin conditions like acne.
“Skin of colour requires a completely different approach”, as Dr. Kubicka puts it. Lesser experienced aestheticians and so-called skincare specialists will often recommend laser or IPL (intense pulsed light treatment) and TCA chemical peels, in the hopes of returning skin complexion back to normal.
Unfortunately, when it comes to skin of colour, this can cause serious post-procedure inflammatory conditions like hyper/hypo-pigmentation, which makes the discolouration far worse than it was to begin with. Patients with darker skin tone are also more prone to burns.
Dr. Kubicka employs a unique approach for every skin of colour, and knows how to effectively manage the risks (if any) associated with every respective skin, body and hair treatment. This ensures that each skin treatment process is 100% effective with no side effects whatsoever.
