“Skin of colour requires a completely different approach”, as Dr. Kubicka puts it. Lesser experienced aestheticians and so-called skincare specialists will often recommend laser or IPL (intense pulsed light treatment) and TCA chemical peels, in the hopes of returning skin complexion back to normal.
Unfortunately, when it comes to skin of colour, this can cause serious post-procedure inflammatory conditions like hyper/hypo-pigmentation, which makes the discolouration far worse than it was to begin with. Patients with darker skin tone are also more prone to burns.

She founded ‘Clinicbe Skin of Colour’ in 2018 to directly cater to an entire community of women and men with darker skin tones, who reported difficulties in finding the right long-term care for their skin.
