Microdermabrasion

The onset of age, certain skin conditions and environmental as well as genetic factors can introduce fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, stretch marks, scars and enlarged pores on the skin.

Microdermabrasion provides intensive and even medical-grade exfoliation, make the skin appear smoother and brighter. The process can also boost production of the skin’s collagen, giving it a youthful texture which develops over the weeks following treatment.

How does microdermabrasion work?

Microdermabrasion refers to a process where tiny exfoliating crystals are sprayed directly on the skin – a great way to get rid of age spots, brown spots or otherwise skin that looks dull. The skin exfoliation treatment can be administered in two ways;

A hand-held device can be used to stream or spray tiny crystals across the skin’s surface – a small vacuum attachment sucks back the exfoliating crystals into the device along with loosened or dead skin.

A more modern method involves the use of a diamond-tip wand which is steadily moved across the skin’s surface to carry out the exfoliation.

By the time the exfoliation and rejuvenation procedure has been completed, the skin feels softer and looks noticeably brighter.

What does microdermabrasion treat?

Microdermabrasion works well on all skin types and colours. It is safe and effective on skin of colour too.

The process induces subtle changes to the skin’s texture which means problems such as hyperpigmentation, acne scarring, wrinkles, stretch marks, aged or dull-looking can be effectively remedied.

“Microdermabrasion is very effective at treating a range of skin conditions in clients with skin of colour – from fine lines and wrinkles to acne scars, stretch marks, blackheads and hyperpigmentation – the treatment has been used with positive results on a wide range of conditions.

“Through this gentle skin exfoliation treatment, you can certainly improve the appearance and condition of your skin in a safe and hassle-free way.”
