High-Tech Treatments for Skin of Colour
Advanced skin treatments and high-tech facials are a very popular in the UK, but many practitioners are nervous about using them on skin of colour, due to the risk of stimulating unwanted side-effects such as hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation – and even scarring – in the darker skin tones.
Skin of colour has much higher levels of melanin than white/caucasian skin, which means that there are greater risks of complications when the skin is heated or stimulated.
