Acne – Back, Neck, Décolletage
The long-term skin condition is recognisable by areas where pimples, whiteheads and blackheads form, along with greasy skin and scarring, in some instances. However, acne is not just limited to the face but can also form around the neck, back and décolletage.
How does acne treatment work?
At Clinicbe Skin of Colour, we employ a unique approach to treating acne.
Instead of prescribing medications that can have adverse after-effects, Dr. Kubicka combines top dermatological treatments according to the individual’s skin condition. This may include Acnelan, Plasma Shower, Pulsed Light Treatment (IPL), Exfoliation, supplements and nutritional advice as well as Microneedling Stimulation.
The objective is to allow the skin to heal from the inside as well as outside.
What does acne treatment treat?
Once the cause of your acne has been properly determined, we will combine the right acne treatments according to your skin type in order to stimulate the body’s natural healing process.
This will clear up your skin and in the following weeks, you will start to notice production of new skin cells, elastin and collagen.
To treat acne in skin of colour and prevent future breakouts, we carefully consider which treatments to administer and in what doses. We also prescribe certain supplements and nutritional changes so that patients with skin of colour can avoid acne breakouts in future. We’ll work with you to develop a treatment plan that’s tailored according to your unique skin type and severity of acne symptoms.”
Key Facts
Price
The cost of acne treatment for back/neck/decolletage areas depends on the number of procedures involved and how long they need to be administered according to the severity of symptoms; this may range from £175 per treatment.
How Long it Takes
The average treatment time ranges between 30-60 minutes. This may vary according to treatment used and symptoms. We may recommend a course of treatments for best results.
However, in as little as 6-8 weeks, you will start to notice your skin looking healthier, although it may take up to 12 weeks or so for your skin to completely regenerate itself.
Downtime
This can again vary according to the treatments, but most would expect a recovery/downtime of just 60 minutes .
Aftercare
- Keeping your skin well-hydrated makes it more resilient while giving it a healthy glow. Dehydrated skin can not only look dull but become more prone to acne.
- Managing stress levels is equally important since stress triggers a hormonal reaction which can cause acne symptoms to resurface.
- Exercise daily and get adequate sleep.
- Processed and junk foods are not recommended for acne patients – always stick to whole and natural food sources.
- Avoid skin whitening or lightening creams as they can damage the skin, making it more prone to acne.
